Community Economic Challenges: Business Executive

The Business Executive invited the Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade in southern Ontario to participate in a short questionnaire on how the economy is affecting their various communities. Businesses across the province are worried about the downturn in the economy, job losses, replacing traditional, well-paid jobs, access to skilled labour and the ability of governments to keep up with municipal infrastructure to accommodate burgeoning communities.
We asked the chambers the following three questions, and below are their answers:
1. What are you hearing on the street about the economy - in your area in particular?
2. What is the biggest economic challenge you are seeing in your community?
3. What are the biggest issues your chamber is dealing with at the present time?
